Wildenstein & Co. Inc. is thrilled to return to TEFAF Maastricht this year. The fair will be held from March 15 to March 20, with VIP previews on March 13 and 14.
In celebration of 150 years in the art business, we are dedicating our booth to Old Masters. A magnificent and immersive pair of paintings by Hubert Robert will set the tone. Nearby, visitors will discover an exquisite gold-ground panel by Bernardo Daddi depicting Saint Catherine of Alexandria, alongside a striking pastel portrait of Turgot, Controller-General of France under Louis XVI, by Joseph Ducreux. Our presentation will also include works by François Boucher, Jean Honoré Fragonard, François Pascal Simon Gérard, Jean Baptiste Hilair, Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, Jean Baptiste Pierre Le Brun, Claude Lorrain, The Argonaut Master, Jean Baptiste Joseph Pater, Pierre Patel, Jean Baptiste Perronneau, Guido Reni, Anne Vallayer-Coster, and Elisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun. Several of these paintings will be offered for the first time.
Old Masters form the cornerstone of our identity, though, over the years, 19th- and 20th-century art has played an increasingly significant role within the firm. In this spirit, we will also present a selection of more modern works (mainly works on paper), dating from the mid-19th century through 1978. Highlights include a drawing by Maximilien Luce depicting Félix Fénéon, the French art critic who coined the term Neo-Impressionism, and a captivating watercolor by Georges Braque, from the collection of film director and passionate art collector Billy Wilder. Also on view will be works by Antoine-Louis Barye, Pierre Bonnard, Salvador Dalí, Edgar Degas, Paul Gauguin, Edouard Manet, Berthe Morisot, Pablo Picasso, Odilon Redon, and Andrew Wyeth.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out for more information on any of the works mentioned above before the fair.
We look forward to greeting you soon at the fair!
